I lived with my family at the Rev. Franklin L. Gibson's home at St. Athanasius Episcopal church and have lots of early photos. I would like to hear from anyone who remembers those times.

I would like to know about the dance school run by Lee Free that was up the street on Echo Park Ave.

this is a very late reply, but my father was very active in this church as well. His name was Raul. if anyone chances upon this site, i would love to know what happened to bill  grant and his wife (2 kids i forgot their name) (next door to the church) when it had a playground / school.

I know Father Frank, Father John.

its very modern and large now, compared to the way it was before the fire / restructure.

good times back then. simple.

Ms. Wood.

Would you mind sharing your photos of St. Athanasius with the Historical Society?

We would be very interested in your memories of this lost piece of Echo Park.

Thank you,

I will definitely post pics that I have. I can still remember running across the balcony during mass. The cold air of the hall. Looking for Easter eggs when their was a big front lawn. Early 80s. If I am not mistaken it is Father Ernie who holds mass on Sundays . -mike azagra
