My mother own's a craftsman home in Historic Filipinotown and it badly needs repair on the foundation. Does anyone have any contractors they can recommend? Can I just get a handy man to repair the piers?
I've used Bill Steimke on a few projects. He's a general contractor from Eagle Rock who does all kinds of foundations and retaining walls.
His number is (818) 903-3202
Thank you for the number. I'll give him a call.
I work for wallpapersplus.com and we have carried the Anaglypta and Lincrusta wallcoverings for 20+ years. They are amazing and as others have said, endless in their design affects.
Couple things - you must paint or prime Lincrusta with Oil Base initially. After that, you can use latex or any other paint. You should wait 48 hours after hanging Anaglypta before painting. That allows the Anaglypta time to dry before you re-apply moisture (paint) to the paper. If you don't do this, it is probable that you will experience bubbling. As for installers - we have a lot of installers that have ordered from us over the years and it is possible that we could have a connection for your job in the future. Other ideas - using Lincrusta as an insert in cabinetry or framing it with accent lighting can create an amazing effect. Don't forget about your ceiling surface as the 5th surface to paper. You can achieve some amazing effects with Lincrusta and Anaglypta on the ceiling that is hard to deliver with other products. All our best from Wallpapersplus!
Back to foundations, we were happy with the earthquake retrofit and foundation reinforcement we got from Seismic Safety in Pasadena.
