Would you perhaps remember the name of the fishing tackle store on Sunset, just a block north of the lake? I'm not sure if it was next to today's Masa restaurant, or where the pawn shop is now located, in the Jensen's block. They had a good selection of lures, bait and gear, and a cool revolving lure display in a case you could activate with a lever. I used to go in there with pals and drool over the classic baits -- the Hula Popper, and others.
Seems the store closed down sometime in the late Sixties. You could enter it from the lake side, or from Sunset. And there was another tackle shop on Glendale, further north, east side of street. It has become a used car sort of place. I'm just wondering -- I'm a fly fisherman who doesn't fish as much as he needs to, so I dream. And think on the good old days.
